Does the bible talk about dating?

Try to find something about quotes in the Bible, you won't find anything. You won't find anything about courtship either, but we have biblical principles to help you when you're looking for a Christian relationship. There may be some areas where you need to talk to them or where God needs to change His mind about them, but again, the person must be godly. So what does that mean when it comes to dating? How can you date in a healthy and fair way.

At Focus on the Family, we have offered a variety of resources and expert advice that apply biblical principles in this area. While the principles that support biblical quotations begin with the very structure of the family, modern dating has its origins with the sexual revolution of the 1960s. Not only is there nothing in the Bible specifically about dating, but the concept of dating didn't even exist in biblical times. Make the Bible available to all people in a language and format that everyone can understand and pay for, so that all people can experience its transformative message.

Marriage and the union of souls for the Kingdom are very important to the Lord, which is why many marriages are mentioned in the Bible. So how does the sufficiency of the Scriptures apply to our next discussions? Well, many evangelicals who otherwise believe in the infallibility of the Bible and who might generally agree with the sufficiency of the Scriptures, have embraced the world's ideas about dating. You can't really talk about a relationship with the opposite sex without talking about marriage because the goal of a relationship is to lead to marriage. Biblical dating assumes a context of spiritual responsibility, as is true in all other areas of Christian life.
